About Me My name is Ron and I grew up in the western United States but spent most of my life raising our family in Texas. I am 58 years old, husband, father of two children with a passion for golf and space exploration. As far back as I can remember I have always been interested in space flight and was very fortunate to spend most of my career working to put men and women into space on the Space Shuttle. I enjoy reading history, especially biographies, and learning about other peoples' lives, challenges, and successes. Why I am a Mormon I am a convert to the church, having received a wonderful witness of truth about the gospel of Jesus Christ after graduating from college when I was 23 years old. I did not know much about the Book of Mormon but had studied the Bible off and on during my earlier years. I read the Book of Mormon and felt a familiar feeling of peace and love. It was energizing and electric for me to learn of the people described in the Book of Mormon and their experiences. I prayed and asked for guidance, received a personal witness of truth, and was baptized soon thereafter. It has been and continues to be a wonderful experience with my wife and children learning about Jesus Christ and following his example and teachings. www.mormon.org www.lds.org
